Screening of the film "The Color of Pomegranate" dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Sergey Parajanov

On 19 April 2024, the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in India, in collaboration with the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry of India (ICMEI), organized a special screening of the film "The Color of Pomegranate" and a captivating collage exhibition dedicated to commemorating the 100th Anniversary of Sergey Parajanov at Noida’s Film City.
At the event, the Ambassador of Armenia to India Vahagn Afyan, President of the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry of India (ICMEI) and the Asian Academy of Film and Television (AAFT), the founder of "Marwah Studios" Sandeep Marwah, Renowed filmmaker Ashok Tyagi and the Head of the AAFT School of Cinema Ashok Dhingra delivered opening remarks.
In his speech, Ambassador Afyan particularly highlighted the remarkable creative legacy of incomparable filmmaker, noting his prominent inclusion in this year's UNESCO calendar alongside other luminaries, the mastery of combining national and imaginary symbols through the use of images, the great interest of tourists visiting Armenia to his museum in Yerevan, and also referred to the programs aimed at increasing the attractiveness of Armenia among the Indian filmmakers and enhancing the cooperation between the two countries and film centers in the field of film production.
On the occasion of the day Ambassador Afyan also gave a briefing. The event was widely covered by the local media.
